Previously, Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil - Executive Director of Miss Universe announced the ticket price for the final night ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 baht (equivalent to 4 - 40 million VND), depending on the seating position and accompanying service package.
However, according to Mr. Nawat's latest revelation, the number of tickets sold was much slower than expected, forcing the organizers to launch a 20% discount program for the "three-night combo" ticket package including national costumes, semi-finals and finals.
The Miss Universe 2025 final night is scheduled to take place on November 21 at Impact Challenger Hall, Nonthaburi Province (Thailand). Although ticket prices are considered "reasonable" compared to previous seasons, the consumption situation is still quite gloomy.
In the Miss Universe 2024 season in Mexico, the ticket price for the semi-final night ranges from 2.3 to 36 million VND, while the final ticket price is up to 68 million VND. In 2023 in El Salvador, the regular ticket price is 500 USD (nearly 14 million VND), 1,000 USD VIP (24.5 million VND) and 2,000 USD platinum (nearly 50 million VND). Despite the high prices, these ticket categories were sold out in just a few minutes of opening for sale.
On the contrary, in Thailand this year, although the prices are lower and there are incentives, many VIP seats are still vacant, causing public questions about the true appeal of the competition. Experts say that Mr. Nawat's responsibility for the entire organization and distribution of tickets has somewhat affected the audience's trust, due to concerns that professional factors and brand image are dominated by individuals.
After Miss Universe Organization transferred the production rights to Mr. Nawat's MGI, the contest was continuously embroiled in controversy and scandals. Mr. Nawat was once warned by his mother for implementing an unlicensed voting program, and recently caused controversy when announcing the Miss Grand Universe sub-award, the winner will be eliminated from Miss Grand International 2026.
In addition, Mr. Nawat also attracted attention when he revealed that this year's final night will only be broadcast in Full HD (1080p) instead of 4K as expected. The quality of the images will depend on the television system, because Telemundo - the official broadcast channel - cannot meet 4K standards, he said.
According to information from Thai beauty forums, this year's contest can gather about 120 contestants - a record number in Miss Universe history. However, many opinions say that large quantities do not mean quality, and cumbersomeness can make the competition nights less attractive.
If Mr. Nawat and his team do not quickly improve their communication strategy, transparency in ticket sales and personal image adjustment, the competition risks becoming a "noisy" season but lacking commercial appeal.
