In the new house, Mr. Hau Mi Phuong's family in Minh Tan commune, Tuyen Quang province is no longer worried about the cold winds in the mountainous areas. For Mr. Phuong, the house is like a dream come true.
As a poor household in the commune, where Mr. Phuong's family lives on the mountainside, construction is both expensive and difficult. Perhaps that is why for many years, the family has accepted to live in a dilapidated house, worried every time it rains or is windy.
"The state supported 60 million to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, my family also saved and borrowed more, earning a total of more than 100 million to rebuild the house. However, that amount of money is not enough to build a house because transporting materials is very expensive.
Without the cooperation and help of the government, the Fatherland Front and the unions and organizations in the commune, I probably wouldn't dare to build a house," Mr. Phuong recalled.
To help Mr. Phuong's family, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and organizations such as the Youth Union, Veterans Association, Women's Union, Border Guard... joined hands to transport free materials. Each bag of cement, each sheet of corrugated iron, each brick is transported by motorbike. Although it is hard, everyone is not afraid, all for the reason of a new house for the poor.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province and organizations have promoted their core role in mobilizing resources for the poor. From 2021 to now, the whole province has renovated and repaired more than 7,000 houses for poor households with a total cost of over 911 billion VND.
Mobilizing the "For the Poor" Fund with more than 25 billion VND, giving thousands of gifts, scholarships, health insurance cards, organizing humanitarian medical examination and treatment... Those timely supports have helped many poor households overcome immediate difficulties and have the conditions to stabilize their lives.
Mr. Ha Trung Kien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province said that in addition to support from the State, the cooperation of agencies, units, and organizations is very important to help poor households rise up and change their own lives.
"Through movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, resources of organizations and individuals inside and outside Tuyen Quang province have been mobilized to join hands in poverty reduction work, helping to change the lives of thousands of disadvantaged households," Mr. Ha Trung Kien informed.
Not only providing economic support, socio-political organizations also promote their role in monitoring and criticizing the implementation of poverty reduction policies, promptly contributing comments and proposals to make the implementation of poverty reduction policies highly effective.
To effectively implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Tuyen Quang province clearly identifies the need to continue promoting the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels in coordinating the implementation and supervision of poverty reduction work.
Implementing poverty reduction models among poor members and union members, socio-political organizations assigned to help the poor must regularly advise, inspect, and help the poor in how to do business and apply advances, science, and technology in production.
In addition, strengthen support and build a "For the Poor" Fund at all levels to create resources to help the poor and the poor develop production, repair and build houses, care for and help the poor in especially difficult circumstances.
Enhance the role of social supervision and reflection on the implementation of the State's policies and laws on sustainable poverty reduction.
In the period of 2021 - 2024, the poverty rate will decrease from 23.45% to 10.19%, which results are clear evidence of the effective implementation of poverty reduction work as well as mobilizing community strength and the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in this work.
