On November 30, Melon held the "16th Melon Music Awards, MMA 2024" (also known as MMA or Melon Music Awards) at Inspire Arena in Incheon.
Although NewJeans did not attend the event, they were honored to be selected in the top 10.
This year, the group released a number of songs, including the title songs: Bubble Gum, How Sweet, Right Now and Supernatural, actively communicating with fans.
NewJeans recently announced the termination of their exclusive contract with their management company, ADOR, but quickly resumed normal activities.
Notably, they appeared on Japanese TV Asahi's music program Music Station on November 29 (local time). After this performance, they achieved an important milestone of entering the top 10 of MMA 2024.
Meanwhile, MMA is Korea's largest music awards ceremony and festival, recognizing and honoring artists' achievements over the past year through Melon's objective data, user votes, and expert reviews.
The awards include categories such as Top 10 and Millions Top 10, along with five main awards: Artist of the Year, KakaoBank Album of the Year, Best Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Rookie of the Year. The winners of these prestigious titles will be announced during the event.
