Spreading national cultural identity
Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day 2026 gathers more than 300 artisans, village elders, village chiefs and people of 54 ethnic groups from 34 provinces and cities at the Village of Culture and Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (Dong Mo, Hanoi). A series of activities introduces cultural quintessence through heritage performances, traditional music, displays, and promotion of tourism and local cuisine.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day 2026 is an important occasion to affirm the concern of the Party, State, levels, and sectors for ethnic culture work and the role and responsibility of cultural entities in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. This is also an opportunity for ethnic minorities to meet, exchange, strengthen solidarity and build a healthy and progressive cultural life.
Providing information about the event, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Chung - Director of the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups - said that the key activities in the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day are to introduce and promote the unique cultural values of localities, promote the preservation of intangible culture associated with tourism development.
The highlight of the series of events is the National Conference on Deploying Ethnic Culture Work (April 17) to share experiences, effective heritage preservation models and orient tasks for the 2026-2030 period. In particular, the program will recognize and honor typical individuals, artisans and officers and soldiers of the armed forces who have made outstanding achievements in coordinating with ethnic minorities to preserve heritage in border areas and difficult areas.
Cultural rendezvous
Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day 2026 officially takes place from April 17 to April 19 at the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (Doai Phuong, Hanoi). The event has many activities to raise awareness, experience and enjoy cultural values of the people and tourists.
Visitors visiting the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups this time have the opportunity to experience the festival performance space, traditional art of ethnic minorities from Vinh Long, Lam Dong, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh... at the same time, cultural exchange with 16 groups of ethnic minorities who are active regularly in the Village.
Ms. Quynh Hoa (Vinh Hung, Hanoi) shared: "I am very excited to watch traditional art performances and experience the cultural space of many ethnic groups in the Village". The activities are designed to increase experience and interaction, helping tourists not only watch but also immerse themselves in the cultural space, bringing traditional values closer to the public, especially young people and international tourists.
* Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day April 19, 2026 is organized to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities and the 18th anniversary of the Prime Minister's Decision. The event aims to promote unique cultural values, promote heritage preservation associated with tourism development.

In Cao Bang province, a photo exhibition with the theme "Some images of cultural heritage of Cao Bang ethnic groups" takes place within the premises of the Provincial Museum. The exhibition displays 100 photos depicting the beauty of ethnic costumes, cultural features in daily life, as well as typical rituals and beliefs, contributing to helping the public better understand the cultural identity of Cao Bang ethnic groups.
Gia Lai for the first time organizes the Gia Lai Provincial Ethnic Culture Festival in the campus of Dai Doan Ket Square and the campus of Pleiku Museum, Pleiku ward on February 25 and 26. 4. The festival includes many unique art contents and programs, contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the ethnic groups of Gia Lai province.
Khanh Hoa organizes "Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day" at 16/4 Square (Dong Hai ward) and surrounding areas of Bao An ward. The artistic highlight of this year's festival is the Arts Exchange and National Costume Performance night, opening at 7:30 PM on April 16th at 16th Square. 4.
