Not impressive in acting
The fact that girls are crowned in beauty pageants helps them easily reach the audience. Up to now, the crowned beauties often choose the catwalk, brand ambassadors... to build their image and increase their income. However, in an entertainment market that is easy to eliminate, many beauty queens want to create a place for themselves so they turn to other fields, including acting.
In early 2024, the audience was surprised to see Miss Vietnam 2018 Tran Tieu Vy appear in Tran Thanh's film "Mai" with a role at the end of the film. This film's revenue reached 520 billion VND but could not help Tieu Vy's reputation increase because her role was only a supporting role that did not leave an impression on the audience. In addition, Tieu Vy's inexperienced acting was not enough to help her be recognized by the audience as an actress, although this beauty also tried hard to complete the role.
At the end of 2023, Luong Thuy Linh appeared in the movie "Chiem Dot". However, this project did not win in terms of revenue. Luong Thuy Linh's performance in the movie was not very impressive even though this role appeared throughout the project.
Runner-up Quynh Chau and runner-up Thuy Dung came to the small screen audience through the films “Van co danh vanh” (The chessboard of fame) and “Uoc minh cung bay”. Minh Tu is the beauty who acts the most when she has many film projects such as "The Lover", "Miss Gangster"... However, these projects do not create much buzz.
The large number of viewers following beauty contests is more or less an advantage for the beauties when they move into other fields. However, this is not the key factor for success but rather real ability and qualities. That is the reason why, despite being very famous after winning domestic beauty contests, the beauty queens are quite obscure on both the small and big screens.
Acting is not a walk in the park
