On the morning of July 8, the La Lay International Border Guard Station (Quang Tri) said that traffic on National Highway 15D towards the border gate is still paralyzed due to a large amount of rock and soil spilling onto the road.
According to initial information, the landslide occurred on the afternoon of July 7 at Km 8+900, when the construction unit was tarpaulining the mountain to widen the curve. A large block of rock and soil suddenly collapsed, burying the entire road surface, causing complete traffic congestion.
The Traffic Maintenance Management Board - Department of Transport of Quang Tri province said that this is one of 11 curves under construction to ensure traffic safety on this route.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities and the construction unit were present at the scene, blocking both ends of the route to ensure safety for people and vehicles. At the same time, machinery and human resources were mobilized to urgently clear the rocks and soil, determined to clear the route as soon as possible.
As of 9:30 this morning, the problem problem is still being urgently resolved. The authorities plan to temporarily reopen the route during the day if the weather conditions are favorable and there are no new landslides.
