Ha An Huy was born into a family with three-generation artistic traditions. His maternal grandmother is NSND Thuy Mo, former Deputy Director of Hai Duong Cheo Theater.
His mother is Meritorious Artist Minh Phuong (born in 1974), currently working at the Voice of Vietnam Theater (VOV) and is a familiar Cheo singer through radio waves and many cultural events.
In his career, Meritorious Artist Minh Phuong has won many professional awards: Second prize in folk music at the first Singing Contest on Radio (1993), Gold Medal at the Festival of Good Folk Songs on Radio (1999), Con Son Award of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee (2001, 2006).
In February 2007, artist Minh Phuong was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist by the State.
From a young age, Ha An Huy was familiar with the stage performances of his mother and grandmother. Although pursuing youth music, the male singer said that folk music is still an important material in his creative thinking.
