On March 3, 2026, Hai Phong City People's Committee organized the opening of Hoa Phuong Theater and the New Year's art program "New Year Concert" at the City Conference and Performance Center.
Attending the program were Mr. Mai Van Chinh - Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Pham Tat Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
On the side of city leaders were Mr. Le Tien Chau - Secretary of the City Party Committee; Mr. Le Ngoc Chau - Chairman of the City People's Committee, along with a large number of delegates, artists and people.
The opening of Hoa Phuong Theater aims to improve the quality of cultural and artistic activities, diversify services to serve the public, mobilize resources to maintain the "lit" theater, thereby promoting the development of the cultural industry and realizing the goal of making Hai Phong a creative city of music according to resolutions of the Central Government and the city.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Le Ngoc Chau - Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that Hoa Phuong Theater is built with a luxurious space, modern equipment, meeting the standards for organizing large-scale art programs, symphonies, musicals and cultural events of national and international stature.

According to the Chairman of the City People's Committee, the project demonstrates Hai Phong's determination in the strategy of developing the cultural industry, improving the spiritual life of the people, and at the same time affirming the city's position as a major cultural center of the Northern coastal region and the whole country.
Hoa Phuong Theater is identified as an important cultural institution, aiming to build Hai Phong into a creative city of music in the network of creative cities of UNESCO. This is also a specific step to effectively implement Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW dated January 7, 2026 of the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture and Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU dated January 14, 2026 of the City Party Committee Executive Committee.
The opening of the Theater today demonstrates a strategic vision in linking modern administrative development with sustainable cultural development. A livable city is not only economically strong but must also be rich in identity, cultural depth and humanity in each public space" - Mr. Le Ngoc Chau emphasized.

The city also aims to expand cooperation with major art centers nationwide such as Ho Guom Theater, Vietnam National Academy of Music, Vietnam Symphony Orchestra to bring unique art programs, national and international projects to the public of Hai Phong.
City leaders expressed their expectation that from today, Hoa Phuong Theater will always be "lit up", becoming a rendezvous for high-class art programs; a gathering place for the quintessence of domestic and world music; contributing to raising the cultural position of Hai Phong - the third largest city in the country, a dynamic marine economic center and gradually affirming itself as a musical creative center of Vietnam and the region.
