Increase personnel, cross-support between departments
The number of room bookings at accommodation establishments in the city tends to increase as the April 30th and May 1st holidays approach. At many hotels in coastal areas, room occupancy rate reaches over 80% and is likely to continue to increase in the coming days. To meet the large workload, units have proactively developed personnel plans and applied cross-support mechanisms between specialized departments.
Ms. Le Nguyen Thao Mi, representative of the business department of a hotel in Son Tra ward, said: "During this holiday, the hotel achieves a capacity of over 80%, so all departments are strengthening mutual support. I and the business staff will directly coordinate with the reception and room departments to support tourists to check in as soon as possible.
Staff at accommodation units also adjust their working hours and intensity to meet the strict service standards of the tourism industry. Ms. Nguyen Thi Truong Viet, a hotel employee in Thanh Khe ward, shared: "I start my shift from 7 am to 5 pm to complete the entire work list. Especially on major holidays, I implement a 24/24 overtime regime.
According to representatives of accommodation establishments, human resource preparation helps businesses maintain stable operations when accommodation demand increases sharply compared to normal days.
Maintenance of facilities to ensure service quality
Along with personnel consolidation, technical infrastructure systems are also reviewed and maintained periodically by units. The inspection list focuses on the air conditioning system, electrical equipment and all furniture in the guest room. Ms. Lien Le, Director of a chain of hotels and apartments in Thanh Khe ward, affirmed: "Before the holiday, we proceeded to maintain the entire refrigeration system and repaint degraded areas. I directly inspect every small detail such as hair dryers and kettles to ensure the equipment operates best, serving customers' needs thoughtfully.
In accommodation areas, staff focus on checking the hygiene of bed sheets and arranging all necessary necessities. According to forecasts, the number of individual guests and late-booking guests will continue to pour into coastal areas, pushing room occupancy to the maximum level during peak days.
According to data from Booking.com, the holiday from April 25th to May 3rd Da Nang tops the list of domestic destinations most searched by Vietnamese tourists. Da Nang stands out not only for its leading position, but because this destination brings a feeling of completeness for a holiday. According to domestic accommodation search data on the digital tourism platform Agoda, accommodation searches with domestic tourists in Da Nang increased by 89% for the long holiday from late April to early May compared to the same period last year.
