Ready to serve customers
In early April, at Thien Cam Sea Tourism Area (Cam Xuyen District), Mr. Tran Xuan Vu (40 years old, residing in Cam Nhuong Commune, Cam Xuyen District) was directly present at Thien Cam Beach to direct more than 10 construction workers to work at his check-in point.
Some of a sad face, Mr. Vu shared that he had just invested 400 million VND to make a check-in point at this beach but was damaged by a big wave, losing a few items, causing a loss of about 200 million VND.
However, he did not give up. Currently, he continues to re-construct to soon complete the check-in and entertainment point to serve his people and tourists.
The climate in Ha Tinh is too harsh. Investing in marine tourism basically only operates for about 3 months in the summer, so capital recovery is slow. Not to mention, during the rainy season, storms are likely to destroy the facility and the invested items, Mr. Vu shared.
Since the Lunar New Year, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung (46 years old) has invested about 300 million VND to open a restaurant on the coast of Thien Cam.
Mr. Hung - said that he had previously been trading in a temporary kiosk in the sea of Thien Cam for many years. However, in 2023, Cam Xuyen district cleared all 46 temporary kiosks to renovate the tourist area.
Up to now, there is no new business location, so he has to proactively rent out land, build a new restaurant with this quite " modest" investment budget to do business.
Many difficulties
On April 6, Ms. Vo Thi Thu Hien - Head of the Tourism Management Department of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh - said that currently, restaurants and accommodation establishments in Ha Tinh sea tourism areas and destinations have been speeding up renovation and upgrading to best serve tourists when the 2025 sea tourism season is approaching.
According to Ms. Hien, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province has just agreed to let localities that are districts, towns and cities with sea in Ha Tinh organize the opening of the Ha Tinh sea tourism season in 2025 on a district-level scale in the coming days.
However, according to the direction of organizing safely, economically and effectively, localities do not organize fireworks displays at the opening ceremony.
Ha Tinh has a coastline of 137km. Localities with the coat include: Nghi Xuan, Thach Ha, Ha Tinh city, Cam Xuyen district, Ky Anh district and Ky Anh town. Of which, 2 quite famous beach tourist areas are Thien Cam Tourist Area and Xuan Thanh Tourist Area.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh, Ha Tinh province is located in the monsoon tropical region; Unfavorable weather factors such as storms, floods, and droughts have affected tourism development, especially for marine tourism when it can only be exploited for 3 to 4 months a year.
This is also the reason why local tourism activities are seasonal, limiting accommodation time, spending ability of visitors, wasting human resources and facilities to invest in tourism.
In 2023, the total number of visitors to Ha Tinh province will reach 3,361,000; international visitors will be 14,661; domestic visitors will be 897,651.
In 2024, the total number of visitors is estimated to reach 6,500,000; overnight visitors are estimated to reach 900,000, of which international visitors are estimated to reach 15,000.
According to Ms. Vo Thi Thu Hien, in 2025, Ha Tinh aims to increase the number of visitors by 10 - 20% compared to 2024.
