Recently, the media reported that on July 22, the Criminal Police Department of Taiwan (China) arrested 4 individuals, including a 42-year-old man named Liu, for selling "black market tickets" related to the "Übermensch" world tour of Korean singer G-Dragon (Big Bang).
During the investigation, the police discovered that Liu and his accomplices posted online selling tickets for the "Übermensch" concert in Taiwan (China) for 6 to 12 times the real value.
Unlike regular speculators, they also offer many additional incentives for buyers. To avoid problems when entering the door on the day of the concert, transactions are conducted at luxury hotels near the venue, and the verification of real names is guaranteed.
To carry out the act, this group created fake identification documents. They collect photos of cards of fans who have purchased black market tickets, edit them and create fake identification documents to verify their real names.
The police confirmed the organized criminal activities of this group and established a team to investigate. Based on digital clues, they identified and arrested Liu and 3 accomplices.
Lius team paid a fee of $60-90 for each initial ticket to get them. After that, they resold these tickets at 6-12 times the purchase price. The total profit from illegal ticket sales activities is up to about 700,000 USD.
The authorities estimate that the group had purchased pre-booked tickets for about 3,000 concert tickets, including about 1,500 tickets for G-Dragon's concerts. The number of pre-booked tickets for Blackpink's upcoming tour has also been found.
Liu and his accomplices have been transferred to prosecution for alleged violations of the Law on Cultural and Creative Industry Development.
The investigation team warned that those caught red-handed selling concert tickets in speculative form could face a fine of 10 to 50 times the ticket price.
Using fake identification documents to verify real names is also illegal, with a possible penalty of up to 5 years in prison or a fine of up to $15,000.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon continues to meet fans around the world with the "Übermensch" tour, the next stop is expected to be Jakarta (Indonesia) on July 25.
Blackpink is also on a "Deadline" global tour with its last two shows in Toronto ( Canada) on July 22-23.
