Being a familiar face on the judging panel of many music programs such as "Star Arena", "Limited Challenge" or "Love Storyteller" in previous seasons, My Le said that the opportunity to return this time came quite naturally. According to the female singer, each program has its own criteria and the judge's task is to closely follow those criteria to make fair comments.
One of the memorable memories with My Le at the program is the reunion with singer Long Nhat. Few people know that Long Nhat was once a student of My Le's father - who discovered and guided the male singer from the early days at the Binh Tri Thien and Huong Giang singing and dancing troupes. “Until now, Mr. Nhat still remembers my father, who brought him into the profession,” My Le shared. After more than two years of not meeting, this reunion brings her many affectionate and nostalgic feelings.
Before the comparisons about the title of diva or the question of whether there is a feeling of "falling behind" compared to some colleagues of the same era, My Le frankly said that each artist has their own choice.
For me, diva is not important. Each person has a stage, a goal. When I choose family, happiness and stability, I have to accept reducing other things. No one can have everything," she confided.
The female singer affirmed that she is not discouraged when withdrawing from showbiz, on the contrary, she is always happy with the success of friends and colleagues.
Looking at the current music market, My Le assesses that Vietnam is not lacking in talent, and even has many young faces reaching further. However, the rapid pace and fierce competition put young artists under a lot of pressure. “You are very hardworking, and I really feel sorry for you,” she said, while expressing support for the next generation - those who are holding the future of Vietnamese music.
From the perspective of her predecessor, My Le also shared a frank view on copyright issues. According to her, excessive fairness sometimes inadvertently hinders the life of the song. “In the past, just saying a few sentences to each other was enough to sing each other's songs, very fun and supportive to spread the song. Now many people put a lot of emphasis on copyright, make it difficult for each other, making the song easily sink,” she confided from her personal experience.
After a long time of cherishing, My Le is preparing to introduce the instrumental album "My Second Voice". This is considered a new turning point when she no longer stands in the role of a familiar voice but expresses herself through the sound of the guitar and musical thinking. "Artists who want to survive sustainably must innovate, but innovation must originate from their true bravery and ability," she affirmed.
