At the premiere of the movie Ma Xo in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of June 3, Tin Nguyen became one of the faces receiving much attention when sharing about the preparation process for the female lead Thao - a poor woman in the Southern countryside who is pregnant and facing a series of spiritual and family tragedies.
In recent days, information that the actress decided to remove her nose cartilage before participating in the project has attracted the attention of the audience. On social networks, many opinions say that Tin Nguyen's appearance has hardly changed after removing the cartilage, and some people even commented that this is "too unreasonable" because it is difficult to recognize the difference.
Before those debates, Tin Nguyen said that the decision to remove the nasal cartilage was not a request from the director or the production crew.
“That is a desire I have had for a long time. Receiving this role is just a motivation for me to make decisions faster. Through each film, I see the points I can improve, both in appearance and career. For me, changing is not to become someone else but a better version of myself,” the actress shared.

She said that she once realized her physical limitations when reviewing her image on the big screen. That is what made her consider removing her nose cartilage about two weeks before filming to have a more natural appearance when playing the role of a country girl in the movie Ma Xo.
Besides changing her appearance, Tin Nguyen also spends a lot of time researching pregnant women's psychology to prepare for the character. The actress brought her silicone pregnant belly home and wore it continuously for more than two weeks, including when sleeping, to get used to the living feeling of a pregnant woman.
After that time, I partly understand the inconveniences and pressures that pregnant women have to go through every day," she said.
According to Tin Nguyen, the thing that puts her under the most pressure when participating in the movie Ma Xo is not the workload but the responsibility for her first role with a lot of psychological depth. The actress admits that she always wants to conquer difficult roles and sees this as an opportunity to challenge career limits.
The movie Ma Xo is inspired by folk and oral belief stories in the South, revolving around a poor family caught up in mysterious upheavals while trying to protect their unborn child. In addition to horror elements, the film also exploits the pressure of poverty, loss and the tearful choices of people in the face of adversity.
The work is directed by Phan Ba Hy, with the participation of Tin Nguyen, Avin Lu, Le Khanh and Hanh Thuy. The film officially premieres from June 5th nationwide.
