The movie "Heo Nam Mong" is becoming the focus of the Vietnamese cinema market when continuously setting impressive records right before the April 30 - May 1 holiday.
According to records, in just the first day of early screening, the work grossed more than 9 billion VND, quickly taking the top 1 box office position, and also surpassing many films at the same time such as "Phí phông: Quỷ máu rừng thiêng" (this film grossed 8 billion VND).
Not stopping there, the film also recorded about 8 billion VND from pre-ordered tickets, thereby setting a record for early ticket sales in this year's holiday season. This achievement shows the strong attraction of the folk horror film genre - a genre that is increasingly affirming its position in the Vietnamese film market.
In parallel with positive revenue, the production crew also continuously released climactic excerpts to keep the media warm. Notably, the tense confrontation scene between Oc Thanh Van and Tran Ngoc Vang attracted great attention from the audience. The film scene depicts a fierce marital conflict, when the character Jennifer cannot accept extremist religious thoughts from her husband's family, leading to a conflict breakout.
Tran Ngoc Vang's transformation is also a noteworthy highlight. The film exploits Southern cultural material, revolving around the bizarre legend of the pig with 5 hooves - a mysterious element, associated with folk spiritual life.
