Duong Tu's new historical film is becoming the focus of discussion as it continuously changes its name during production, from "Gia nghiep" to "Trinh Nuong truyen", and then returns to "Gia nghiep" in just about 3 months.
Notably, recently Sina reported that the film has officially passed the censorship round and been licensed for broadcasting, with the number of episodes increasing from 40 to 42 episodes.
This immediately attracted the attention of the audience, because since 2020, the National Radio and Television Administration of China (NRTA) has issued regulations to improve the quality of television dramas, according to which each drama must not exceed 40 episodes.

According to CCTV News, the movie "Gia Nghiep" will air on CCTV-8 channel on May 25, 2026 in prime time. On April 20, CCTV News also announced a trailer longer than 2 minutes, contributing to increasing the appeal of the movie right before its broadcast.
The movie trailer impresses with its meticulous visuals, recreating the cultural space of Huy Chau region during the Ming Dynasty with typical architecture such as green brick walls, gray tiled roofs, horse-headed walls, along with terraced fields and mountainous mist scenes. The film minimizes the use of modern beauty effects, towards a realistic, rustic style, respecting historical and cultural elements.
Family Industry" is introduced as the first Chinese TV series to deeply explore Huy squid making - a traditional cultural heritage with a long history of China. Set in the Ming Dynasty in Huy Chau, the film revolves around the journey of the character Ly Trinh (played by Duong Tu) - the youngest daughter of the Ly family, a family famous for traditional squid making.

The story focuses on Ly Trinh's journey of more than 20 years of breaking the prejudice of "traditional men not traditional women", gradually reviving the family's hundred-year squid making career. From a noble lady, she became a leader in innovating squid making techniques, bringing family products through difficulties, affirming their position in the market. The film also clearly depicts the struggle between tradition and innovation in a traditional handicraft industry.
In her career development journey, Ly Trinh has the companionship of Lac Van Khiem (played by Han Dong Quan). From the initial confrontational relationship, the two gradually become associates, together resolving crises in the industry, and improving production processes.
The cast of the film is also a notable highlight with the participation of many familiar faces such as Duong Tu, Han Dong Quan, Luu Dao, Tao Lei, Ly Bach Hue...
With content imbued with traditional cultural elements, along with careful investment in images and a cast of talented actors, "Gia Nghiep" will become one of the notable TV series on the Chinese small screen in 2026.
