According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam on the afternoon of December 31, 2025, "Avatar 3: Fire and Ash" has now reached a revenue milestone of nearly 210 billion VND in the Vietnamese market.
Continuing the success of the previous two installments, "Avatar 3" continues to conquer audiences thanks to its global brand, superior visual effects and large-scale distribution strategy.
Meanwhile, the most notable competition of Vietnamese films lies in "Heaven of Blood" and "Who loves whom loves" - two works with completely different themes and audience groups.
Blood Paradise", a psychological - crime film exploiting the topic of online scams, currently achieves a total revenue of more than 10.5 billion VND. At present, the film earns more than 4.14 billion VND/day, with more than 56,800 tickets sold. This is considered a positive figure in the context of the box office being strongly overwhelmed by foreign blockbusters.
The advantage of "Heaven of Blood" comes from the topical issue, close to life, hitting the curiosity of the audience. In addition, the presence of familiar actors such as Quang Tuan, Hoai Lam also helps the film create a certain level of recognition, especially for young audiences.
Conversely, "Ai thuong ai meen" - a work with emotional and family colors has quite modest revenue. The total film revenue is currently only over 1.5 billion VND. Currently, the film reaches about 915 million VND/day, selling more than 11,000 tickets, significantly lower than "Heaven of Blood".
This difference clearly reflects the trend of audience choices during the box office peak period. Movies with slow rhythms, emotional and nostalgic like "Ai thuong ai meen" face many disadvantages when directly facing international blockbusters and Vietnamese films with more dramatic and sensational themes.
In addition to the three prominent names mentioned above, the remaining films such as "Zootopia: Expedition 2", "House of Two Owners", "Tom & Jerry: The Mysterious Board" or "SpongeBob: The Curse of Pirates" all have low revenue, mainly serving children's and family audiences, making it difficult to create breakthroughs.
The year-end box office picture shows that "Avatar 3: Fire and Ash" not only absolutely dominates revenue but also unintentionally pushes Vietnamese films into harsh competition. The disparity between "Heaven of Blood" and "Who Loves Who Loves" continues to pose a problem about the theme, distribution strategy and audience reach of Vietnamese cinema in the box office race.
