The winner of the Photographer of the Year 2026 award is female photographer Cerrina Smith with very strong color works on the theme "Expressive Portrait" and the theme "Freedom". According to the Organizing Committee of the annual 2026 Better Photography Photo Contest of Australia, which just announced the results on July 7, 2026, Viet Van, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, won 6 awards. Three Silver prizes were awarded to the works "What's Left", "To Sell" and "Moment Not Shared". Three Bronze prizes were awarded to the works "Echoes of Presentness", "Heavenlessness" and "Walking the Same Path, Each Person Takes a Different Way". These photos were taken in Vietnam, Russia and Japan, with different genres from portraits, still life to street photos, conceptual photos. Among them, the latest photo "Walking the Same Path, Each Person Takes a Different Way" was taken at a train station in Kyoto, Japan in May 2026.
