The 2025 International puppet Festival is expected to be held at the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace and 30.10 Square, Ha Long Ward, Quang Ninh Province.
It is expected that 12-15 professional puppetry units from 12-15 countries and territories will participate.
The domestic troupe includes: Vietnam puppetry Theater, Thang Long puppetry Theater, Hai Phong puppetry Troupe, Phuong Nam Arts Theater (Ho Chi Minh City) and Dong Nai Arts Theater.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at 20:00, November 16, 2025. The performances will take place in the morning from 9:30 am and evening from 8:00 pm. The closing ceremony, summary and award ceremony of the Festival is scheduled at 20:00, November 25, 2025.
The agency directing this event is the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province. The agency in charge of implementation is the Department of Performing Arts.
The Art Council consists of 7 members who are experts, art researchers, and prestigious domestic and international puppet artists (of which 4 members are Vietnamese and 3 members are foreigners).
The 2025 International puppet Festival is a cultural and artistic event to promote cooperation in the field of culture and art between Vietnam and countries around the world.
Organizing the Festival is one of the bases for State management agencies to objectively assess the current state of domestic and international puppetry activities in each stage, helping to orient solutions to promote the development of Vietnamese puppetry, contributing to the construction and development of Vietnam's cultural industries.
The festival is also an opportunity for domestic domestic artists to introduce the cultural values of Vietnamese puppetry to international friends; an opportunity for Vietnamese puppet artists to exchange, learn, exchange and share experiences with typical puppetry units of countries around the world in the process of artistic creation, and at the same time an opportunity to receive the cultural quintessence of countries around the world in the process of creating, introducing, promoting and honoring Vietnam's cultural values to domestic and international friends.
