This is one of four international cartoon festivals sponsored by the Association of International Cartoons (ASIFA). It is a gathering place for leading cartoonists and has received great attention from the international public.
In an interview with the French Embassy, the Department of Cinema has made assessments of the domestic cartoon market share, popularity among audiences, acknowledged the efforts but also frankly pointed out the points that need to be overcome when compared to the international market. In addition, the Department of Cinema also shared about the development orientation of Vietnamese animation in the next 5 - 10 years, in order to propose potential directions for the industry.
On the side of the French Embassy, Mr. Jeremy Sagay said that the Vietnamese market is in the region with the largest growth rate in the hospitality industry in the world, although production resources are still young, the potential for innovation and development is extremely large. He also shared valuable lessons from the experience of French animation - one of the most developed animation markets in the world, along with plans to promote cooperation opportunities between the two countries, thereby supporting Vietnamese animation to reach more international markets.
Pioneering the combination of Vietnamese - French animation is Vietnam's first appearance at the Annecy International animation Festival 2025, one of the most prestigious film festivals in the global animation industry. This activity marks an important milestone when many "Make in Vietnam" animated products will be introduced at the international playground.
At Annecy 2025, Vietnam will have the opportunity to open a space to display outstanding domestic cartoon products, directly interact with investors as well as international film studios, thereby expanding opportunities for Vietnamese units to reach out to the big sea. The project is sponsored by the French Embassy and received active support from VAVA and DCCA organizations. This is the result of diplomatic activities and development opportunities on the international stage after the success of the first animation film festival "Aspiration" (TAF 2024). Mr. Jeremy said that the French Embassy is ready to support to bring connection opportunities to many animation units in Vietnam.
