At the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF 2025), many activities to introduce Vietnamese cinema were held, from film screenings, thematic seminars to meetings between film organizations in and outside the region. These activities show a multi-dimensional picture of the current situation as well as the direction of cooperation of Vietnamese cinema in the international arena.
There are 2 Vietnamese films selected to be screened at BIFF 2025, Quan Ky Nam by director Leon Le in the A window on Asian Cinema category; and The strawberry selling trend by director Le Van Kiet in the Midnight Passion category for horror and thriller films.
In addition, the project "Flying Cows" by director Nguyen Pham Thanh Dat and producer Nguyen Huu Thi Tuong Vi was selected in the top 30 projects of the Asian Project Market.

At the Asian Film Festival and Project Market (ACFM), a separate space to display information about filming locations and the rating index of the attractiveness of Vietnamese localities to international film crews has been established.
This is an important highlight, introducing the PAI Index - a tool to assess the attraction of Vietnamese localities to international film crews, along with unique locations such as Da Nang, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh..., affirming the potential of film tourism.
The space also provides information about the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) with many outstanding categories, creating opportunities to connect, train and nurture young talents.
The Vietnam Cinema Development Promotion Association (VFDA) also announced plans to expand the competition category and Project Incubator for DANAFF IV (2026), demonstrating a long-term vision in the journey to bring Vietnamese cinema to the world.
At the same time, the space also introduces new and anticipated Vietnamese film projects such as "The Priestly Son - The Mystery of King Dinh's Tomb" and "Saigon Oppa". These are considered typical works of international cooperation trends and the diversity in storytelling of Vietnamese cinema.
Also during this working trip, VFDA had an important meeting with the Korea Film Council (KOFIC) and signed a Protocol with the KEY Association on international cultural exchange, aiming at cooperation in film production and promotion, education and event organization in the period of 20252026.
The workshop "Vietnam Cinema Drum - Introduce promising projects" was also held within the framework of BIFF 2025, attracting the participation of many international guests and Vietnamese delegates.
Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan - President of VFDA, emphasized that Vietnamese cinema over the past decade has made significant progress in terms of revenue, artistic quality and the appearance of many young talents. She emphasized that initiatives such as the PAI and DANAFF indices have quickly affirmed their prestige in the region.
The workshop not only provided a panoramic view of the Vietnamese film market, but also affirmed Vietnam's increasingly solid position on the Asian film map with potential opportunities for international cooperation in the coming time.
