The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued directives to implement the conclusion of Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang at the business community meeting program in the field of cultural industry. The document emphasizes the requirement to remove mechanisms, mobilize resources and create a favorable environment for the sustainable development of the cultural industry.
Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City assigned the Department of Finance to take the lead in coordinating with relevant units to research and advise on policies to support businesses in terms of capital, land funds and administrative procedures. The city requires ensuring the principle of "fair treatment", regardless of business size, towards building a transparent and healthy business environment.
One of the notable contents is the review of public housing and land funds in the area, especially in areas that have not been effectively exploited, to propose conversion of land use purposes to serve the development of cultural institutions and creative spaces. This is considered an important solution to expand space for cultural and artistic activities, meeting the increasing needs of people and tourists.
From an infrastructure perspective, Ho Chi Minh City is oriented to build a large-scale film studio complex of about 100 - 150ha. This project is expected to create a boost for the film and television industry, and at the same time attract domestic and international film crews to produce in the city. The formation of large-scale film studios also contributes to completing the value chain of the content industry.
At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City is also researching the construction of the Vietnam Music Museum with the application of artificial intelligence technology and digital transformation in display activities. This project is not only meant to preserve and introduce the quintessence of folk music but also aims for a modern interactive experience, attracting the public, especially young people.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also assigned research to establish a Fund for Cultural Industry Development under the venture capital investment fund model to support startup projects and innovation in the field of culture and arts. This is considered a step to encourage businesses to invest in products with Vietnamese identity.
In addition to developing infrastructure and resources, the city also focuses on protecting intellectual property rights, strengthening control and handling violations in the field of cultural industry, creating a healthy creative environment.
Notably, the "School Theater" project is also being researched and implemented to bring art into schools, contributing to nurturing future generations of audiences and spreading traditional cultural values.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests departments and branches to urgently deploy tasks according to their functions, ensuring progress and efficiency. In the process of implementation, if difficulties arise, it is necessary to promptly report for consideration and direction, towards the goal of making the cultural industry one of the new development drivers of the city.
