On August 9, in Duong Hoa commune, Quang Ninh province, the 2026 Duong Hoa Tea Festival officially opened with many activities associated with the local tea growing, production and processing industry.
Within the framework of the festival, people and tourists can visit tea hills, learn about the steps from picking tea, stirring tea to brewing and enjoying tea.

Notably, tea picking and tea making competitions are held right in the festival space for people and tourists to learn about and experience the process of making Duong Hoa tea products.
This year's festival is held for 2 days, August 8th and September 8th, in the tea field area of Duong Hoa Cuong village.
In addition to activities related to tea trees, the program also includes a race around the tea hill, an OCOP product display, photo exhibition, art performances and experiential activities in the tea region.
The highlight at the opening ceremony was the announcement and reception of the Certificate of recognition of Vietnamese Heritage Tree for 2 ancient tea trees on the Quang Nam Chau range, belonging to the Truc Bai Son protection forest area, Duong Hoa commune.
Previously, the survey process in Quang Nam Chau area discovered an ancient tea tree population growing naturally. Initial survey results showed that tea is distributed at an altitude of about 320-480m above sea level; many trees are 6-10m tall, large trees have a base circumference of about 120cm. Under the forest canopy, many young tea trees regenerate naturally.

Duong Hoa commune is currently the largest tea growing area in Quang Ninh province with about 120ha, more than 90% of the area is being harvested. Fresh tea bud production is estimated to reach about 1,400-1,500 tons per year.
The Duong Hoa Tea Festival is organized to honor the tea growing profession, promote the Duong Hoa tea brand; exploit the values of the tea region associated with agricultural tourism, ecology and experience development.
