The lacquer exhibition to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress will open from December 12 to December 22, 2025 at 29 Hang Bai, Cua Nam, Hanoi.
The event was chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned to the Department of Fine Arts, photography and Exhibition, in coordination with relevant units.
The exhibition brings together lacquer paintings by many generations of artists, expressing the depth of culture and contemporary breaths on the occasion of the 14th National Party Congress.
The event creates artistic highlights, honors traditional materials and arouses the creative spirit of today's Vietnamese fine arts; at the same time, building a rich artistic space with aesthetics, contributing to enriching cultural life, serving the enjoyment needs of art lovers.
lacquer was once considered the "soul" of Vietnamese fine arts, but this exhibition shows that traditional materials are not left unchanged in the mold. From the familiar warm color paints, layers of then, sun, yellow, silver, many artists have expanded the language of expression, applying lacquer to new spatial structures, new khoies and stories with the breath of the times.
The exhibition introduces many suggestive works on the theme of building a country, the image of Vietnamese people in labor, the contemporary urban life, and philosophical ideas about nature, identity and culture. Through the hands of veteran painters - who have affirmed their name and played an important role in preserving traditional techniques - the works bring a clear sense of calmness and depth of contemplation.

In addition, the exhibition also introduces works by the generation of contemporary artists who have affirmed their position in artistic creation, bringing new energy to the exhibition space. Some works are built in a minimalist direction or combine contemporary elements, but still retain the spirit and identity of traditional lacquer painting.

The exhibition not only honors the traditional value of lacquer art but also affirms the strong vitality, adaptability and innovation of Vietnamese fine arts in the context of integration. This is also an opportunity for domestic and international audiences to understand and love artistic materials imbued with Vietnamese identity, thereby contributing to promoting the image of a country rich in culture, creativity and humanity.
