On January 28, the State Archives and Records Administration (Ministry of Home Affairs) officially launched a space to introduce Vietnam's World Documentary Heritage and typical national archival documents.
The introduction space is scientifically and modernly designed with three main content areas. In which, the center is the Modern Media Space - where archived documents are converted into media content, digital data, and multimedia interactive products.
In addition, the World Documentary Heritage Space of Vietnam and typical national archival documents will provide the domestic and international public with an overview and easy access to national documentary heritage and archival documents.
At the same time, the public can learn, look up, interact and learn from original archives through interactive screens, searching for information.

The Historical Space of Vietnam's Archival Industry is arranged with the aim of honoring the journey of formation and development of the archival profession, along with generations of archivists who have silently preserved, protected and passed on national documentary and archival heritage documents through the ages.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Thanh Tung, Director of the State Archives and Records Administration, emphasized that national archival documents are a particularly important source of original historical materials, truthfully reflecting the historical, cultural, management thinking and development of the country through periods.
In which, the Nguyen Dynasty Woodblocks and the Nguyen Dynasty Chaublocks - two world documentary heritage blocks recorded by UNESCO are not only the pride of the Archives industry, but also a priceless asset of the nation and the Vietnamese people.

We hope this place will become a cultural destination with depth, an "intuitive history class", an open learning ecosystem, serving a diverse audience: from students, researchers to the general public and international friends," said the Director of the State Archives and Records Department.
The space will officially open for free visits from March 3, 2026, the reception time is from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM every week at the headquarters of the State Archives and Records Administration (12 Dao Tan).


To kick off a series of public service activities with the message "Khai tri dau xuan - Ton hon van hien", a thematic exhibition on Hoang Cung Tet through Chau Ban, Nguyen Dynasty Woodblocks, combined with unique interactive experience activities such as woodblock printing techniques on Do paper and giving early spring calligraphy letters, will take place here. This place promises to be a new destination in the spring travel map of Hanoi people in particular and the whole country in general.
The State Archives and Records Department is closely coordinating with the Inter-Ministry Archives Department, Ministry of Culture of the French Republic to complete the dossier submitted to UNESCO to register the French language archival documents for the period 1858 - 1954 as a World Documentary Heritage.


In the coming time, the unit will strengthen the application of digital technology to bring archived documents closer to society; regularly organize activities to introduce archived documents according to topics and through "talking products": from visual video clips, specialized publications, to modern multimedia interactive applications.
We hope that archived documents will become a reliable source of information, used regularly and widely by agencies, organizations, and individuals, creating soft power, contributing to the development of the country," Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga said.
