On February 12, Mr. Do Ngoc An - Chairman of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Bac Lieu province - said: Bac Lieu Poetry Night will be held at Uncle Ho Temple, Chau Thoi commune, Vinh Loi district on the night of February 13.
Vietnam Poetry Day is a meaningful activity to honor the country, people, culture, and soul of Vietnam through the literary form of poetry. In that spirit, every time the Full Moon of January comes, the whole country will solemnly organize many activities to celebrate Vietnam Poetry Day.
The Vietnam Poetry Day program is one of the activities assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to the Association in 2025. This is an activity to praise the achievements of the country, inspire life and creativity, and the great aspirations of the nation to the whole society. At the same time, review the tradition of poetry accompanying the nation, creating immortal works in the flow of Vietnamese literature and art.
This is also an opportunity for the team of literary creators in general, and provincial poetry in particular, to look back on the past year with many changes of the homeland conveyed in literature and art. At the same time, it creates a catalyst and inspiration to create meaningful poetic works, beautifying the soul of the land and people of Bac Lieu.
The theme of the 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day in 2025 in Bac Lieu is "Remembering Uncle Ho on the Lantern Festival" held at President Ho Chi Minh Temple, aiming to better serve the need to enjoy art, especially poetry, of cadres and people in remote areas and revolutionary base areas.
What is quite interesting in the "land of Cai Luong" is that Uncle Ho's poem Nguyen Tieu was composed into modern and traditional lyrics by artists in Bac Lieu with music by Nguyen Quoc, composed into traditional Thai Chi Nguyen performed by Meritorious Artist Anh Chang, artist Vinh Son and singer Thanh Vy.
Even the poem "Nam Quoc Son Ha" by Ly Thuong Kiet - a poem like a Declaration affirming the nation's sovereignty and independence as inviolable - was composed with ancient lyrics by the excellent artist Do Ngoc An (into an ancient song) performed by the excellent artist Cong Trang, the excellent artist Giang Tuan, the artist Hong Them and a dance group.
The famous Bac Lieu "Noi Tho" tune was also included by the organizers in the Vietnam Poetry Day program. This is the effort of the organizers in preserving and promoting the artistic value of the traditional music genres, Cai Luong, on the occasion of Vietnam Poetry Day.
