On the afternoon of February 5, the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province said that as of 3:00 p.m. on February 5, the whole province had 664/66,945 primary school students who had not returned to school, although according to regulations on February 3, all students at all levels in Bac Lieu province returned to school after the Tet holiday.
Thus, the whole province currently has 3,118/160,090 preschool children and primary school students of all levels who have not returned to school after the Tet holiday. Of which, 677/46,296 secondary school students have not gone to school; 254/20,319 high school students have not gone to school; 106/1,806 continuing education students have not gone to school.
According to the investigation of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province, the main reason is due to the change in weather, many children are sick so their parents have not sent them to school; some have followed their parents back to their hometown and have not returned yet. In particular, many children who had returned to school on February 3 and 4 were absent today due to illness.
The Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province has directed educational institutions to make a list of students who have not returned to school after the Tet holiday. They will investigate and analyze the causes and coordinate closely with local authorities and organizations to take specific measures for each case to encourage students to return to school soon.
