No more loneliness
The exhibition house was created as an additional item of the project to restore and embellish Banh It tower. According to Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Ta Xuan Chanh, this will be a space to recreate the map of Cham relics in Binh Dinh; a place to display artifacts discovered from excavations, worship objects, ceramic pieces, decorative reliefs, costumes, Cham musical instruments, etc. The target is tourists.
The temples and ruins found in the heart of Binh Dinh have a special place in the Champa architectural heritage. They stand on their own, and were classified and described by the famous French researcher P. Stern at the beginning of the last century through the concept of “Binh Dinh style”.
Unlike the South Central region, which has a large concentration of Cham people, in Binh Dinh, the majestic and imposing towers on high hills are not nurtured or maintained by the rituals of belief, worship, rites or primitive customs of a community rich in identity. For a long time, they were almost dead relics.
The waste of resources has been identified. Ancient heritage has gradually created a new vitality and its own appeal behind the moss. The Twin Towers, a famous architectural complex in the heart of Quy Nhon City, "presents" a traditional cultural space thanks to the continuous presence of artists and artisans from Ninh Thuan. The ancient tower, after many years of silence, has become fresher and more vibrant.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ngan - a tourist from Dak Nong - excitedly said that during her one-week stay in Quy Nhon, she and her family visited the Twin Towers twice: “The architectural art of the ancients is truly special. The carvings are incredibly sophisticated. The performance program of the Cham - Ninh Thuan Folk Culture Art Troupe is full of vibrant sounds: traditional music, New Year festival dance, incense offering at the ancient tower, pottery making, brocade weaving... Watching it over and over again never gets boring.”
At the end of September 2024, organizing a specialized training course in Binh Dinh, the Vietnam Folk Arts Association also chose the Twin Towers as a practical point for exchanging, teaching, and connecting folk cultural values with the goal of tourism development.
Convenient, friendly
Quang Trung Museum, which preserves the glorious glory of the Tay Son Dynasty, is one of two special national relics in Binh Dinh. After many upgrades and expansions, the relic complex now covers 17.74 hectares and is a leading address for ceremonial events or tours, sightseeing routes, and historical exploration. It is worth noting the closeness and friendliness of the management unit in its efforts to improve service quality.
Visitors, in addition to the support of a team of direct guides, can easily access the relic records, read, listen, watch, and extract stories from 11,000 documents and artifacts with just a smartphone scanning the QR code. The museum welcomes nearly 200,000 domestic and international visitors each year. Young people, students, and pupils account for a significant proportion of this number.
Not only Quang Trung Museum, information technology utilities are now widely exploited and popular at relics in the area. Only counting the Cham tower group, there are 7 clusters with QR codes including Doi tower, Banh It, Binh Lam, Canh Tien, Duong Long, Phu Loc, Thu Thien. The attached information is quite complete from the year, architectural style to function and spiritual meaning.
To promote the value of heritage, the cultural sector and Binh Dinh province have devoted a lot of resources to the restoration and embellishment of relics. Quang Trung Museum, recently upgraded and expanded, mobilized up to 211 billion VND. Duong Long Tower Cluster (Tay Son District), the remaining special national relic, has been allocated 94 billion VND for restoration items in the 2022 - 2025 period.
