The project aims to exploit the water surface of Thi Nai lagoon for tourism purposes. This includes building a reinforced concrete pier to transport passengers and goods for marine tourism activities; assembling a floating pontoon bridge system to connect the pier with the outside of the project.
The project is planned on a land plot in the water area northeast of Dong Da Park, Thi Nai Ward (Quy Nhon City), with an area of 6,500m2. The project cost is over 14 billion VND. The project's operating period is 50 years, from the date of the land lease decision.
According to the Department of Tourism of Binh Dinh province, the project of the wharf and the water surface area (Thi Nai ward) is implemented to serve the exploitation of two tours of Thi Nai lagoon and community activities.
Speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of Binh Dinh Province's Department of Tourism said that Quy Nhon City is completing the construction of two tours to Thi Nai Lagoon, aiming to fully exploit the potential of eco-tourism and promote the development of the local tourism industry.
The two new tours will take visitors to explore cultural sites such as Hai Minh fishing village, Thay Boi tower, Tran Hung Dao statue and several other highlights.
"When the two Thi Nai lagoon tours come into operation, ensuring safety for tourists will be given special attention by transport units. In addition, businesses will be encouraged to build services such as food, entertainment, etc. to retain tourists," he said.
It is known that Thi Nai lagoon has more than 5,000 hectares of water surface, famous for its rich ecosystem, especially mangrove forests and migratory birds, creating a fascinating natural picture, considered an ideal place to organize nature exploration activities.
Thi Nai Lagoon is also known as a historical destination with Thi Nai sea-crossing bridge - once the longest sea-crossing bridge in Vietnam with a total length of nearly 2.5km.
