Finding the silence in the remote island
Knowing about the Phu Quy special zone (Lam Dong) through photos shared on social networks many years ago, but it was not until this summer that Thai Huyen (Nghe An) and a group of friends had the opportunity to carry out a long-cherished trip.
The ship left the mainland early in the morning. After nearly 3 hours of drifting at sea, the small island gradually appeared in the deep blue of the ocean. Without massive resorts or rows of high-rise buildings close together, Phu Quy welcomes guests with peaceful fishing villages, windy coastal roads and a very unique slow pace of life.
During her days on the island, she chose a villa with many glass doors, facing straight out to the sea. Every morning when she woke up, she heard the sound of waves gently crashing into the rocky shore, in front of her was the clear blue sea, stretching to the horizon.
It's been a long time since I felt so relaxed. No need to rush, just sitting and looking at the sea is also comfortable," Huyen shared.
The trip of the group of friends did not have a tight schedule, just leisurely days in the sea and sky of Phu Quy. Those were mornings driving on the coastal road to welcome the sun at the beginning of the day, times stopping under the famous lonely tree of the island or afternoons sitting on the Lang Co embankment, watching the sun gradually disappear behind the horizon.
In Trieu Duong Bay, the sea surface is calm like a giant mirror reflecting the sky. At Bai Nho - Ganh Hang, the sea appears with many layers of green changing color. Or on Cao Cat peak, the wind brings the saltiness of the ocean blowing through the cliffs created by time.
What makes many tourists love Phu Quy is not necessarily the famous check-in points, but the feeling of peace present in every moment. People can spend the whole afternoon sitting by the homestay's porch listening to the sea waves, reading a book or simply watching fishing boats returning from a long sea trip.

Diving in the blue sea
Phu Quy is loved by many tourists thanks to beautiful coral diving spots such as: Hon Tranh, Bai Can, Lach Du or Bai Lang. In the calm sea season, the water surface is so clear that you can see faint coral reefs below. This is also a place that owns a diverse marine ecosystem with many coral species and colorful schools of fish.
For Thai Huyen, the coral diving experience is one of the most memorable moments in the island exploration journey. In the clear blue water, coral clusters appear in various shapes. Interspersed are small schools of fish swimming around, creating a vivid scene of the ocean.
When I got into the water, I felt everything slowed down. Below are long coral reefs, above is clear blue water. The feeling is very comfortable and peaceful," Huyen shared.
According to local tourism workers, the period from March to August is the most beautiful season to dive and see coral in Phu Quy. When the sea is calm, the water is clear and sunlight penetrates the seabed, the beauty of the underwater ecosystem appears more clearly than ever.
Above the sea is the blue sky, below the water are the vibrant coral reefs. I feel like all stress disappears after that moment," Thai Huyen said.
Leaving Phu Quy in a sunny afternoon, what remains with Huyen is a rare peaceful feeling found between the sea and distant islands - where the pace of life is still slow as it is and the ocean still retains its pristine colors.

Phu Quy Special Zone is located more than 100km from the mainland, in the middle of the blue sea of Lam Dong province. Not possessing large-scale tourist areas or vibrant life, this island attracts tourists with its pristine beauty with coastal roads, peaceful fishing villages, natural rocky beaches and sea views stretching to the horizon. In recent years, Phu Quy has gradually become a favorite destination for tourists who want to find a journey of rest, slow living and being close to nature.
Besides the clear blue beaches, snorkeling is one of the experiences chosen by many tourists when coming to Phu Quy island. Areas such as Hon Tranh, Bai Can, Lach Du or Bai Lang own clear water, rich marine ecosystems and favorable views in the calm sea season. In the quiet space of the ocean, visitors can immerse themselves in the water, admire the coral reefs at the bottom of the sea and enjoy the feeling of relaxation amidst the vast sea and sky.
