Lam Dong - A female tourist hospitalized in serious condition in Phu Quy Special Zone was hired by her family to be taken by helicopter to Ho Chi Minh City for emergency treatment overnight.

On June 15, the People's Committee of Phu Quy Special Economic Zone (Lam Dong province) said that a female tourist was brought from Phu Quy island to the mainland by service helicopter for emergency treatment on the night of June 14.

According to Mr. Le Hong Loi - Chairman of Phu Quy Special Economic Zone People's Committee, the hiring of helicopters is because the patient's family has a need, so they proactively hire service providers to promptly bring relatives to the mainland for treatment.

Information from the Military-Civilian Medical Center of Phu Quy Special Zone said that the patient is Ms. N.T. P (born in 1950), a tourist from Dong Nai.

According to initial information, Ms. P had diarrhea from June 12. By the afternoon of June 14, the patient was admitted to the hospital in a state of low blood pressure, had underlying diseases and was initially diagnosed with sepsis from the digestive tract.

Doctors and nurses have performed initial emergency treatment. However, the patient is allergic to many types of antibiotics, can only use one appropriate drug but responds to treatment slowly.

Phu Quy Special Military-Civilian Medical Center is expected to maintain vital signs so that on the morning of June 15, the patient can be transferred to the mainland for emergency treatment by high-speed train. However, before the complicated health developments, the family hired a service helicopter to transfer him to the emergency hospital.

After completing the necessary procedures, at about 10 pm on June 14, the helicopter landed at the airport on Phu Quy island. The patient was put on the helicopter and took off to Ho Chi Minh City on the same night.

It is known that Ms. P and her family went to Phu Quy island for tourism before. The total cost of hiring a helicopter, estimated at hundreds of millions of VND, was paid by the family.

Previously, on December 28, 2025, a family on Phu Quy island also hired a helicopter to take a relative who suffered a severe stroke to Ho Chi Minh City for emergency treatment in the context of large waves causing the high-speed train to temporarily stop operating.
