The incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on October 21, causing Mr. Polong Nhuong (47 years old, Head of A Tu 1 Village) to be seriously injured, with his face, abdomen, legs and arms severely scratched and torn.

Lieutenant Colonel Bhnuoch Den - Head of Hung Son Commune Police, Da Nang said that people discovered Mr. Nhuong lying unconscious on the side of the road about 1 hour after being attacked by a bear, with many wounds on his body. People immediately organized first aid and reported it to the authorities.
That same night, Hung Son Commune Police, Ch'om Commune Health Station and Ga Ry Border Guard Station mobilized forces and vehicles to take the victim to the Combined Military-Civilian Medical Station to stop the bleeding, bandag, infuse and transfer him to the higher level for treatment.
Currently, Mr. Nhuong is conscious and has overcome the critical stage, but is still being actively monitored by doctors and nurses due to deep injuries in the face, abdomen, arms and legs.

The Hung Son commune government has issued a warning to all people, suggesting limiting going to the fields alone, especially in the late afternoon, and being highly vigilant when traveling through border forests to prevent wildlife attacks.
The authorities are also organizing a review and monitoring of wild bear traces to take measures to ensure the safety of local residents.
