According to the plan, about 1,700 tourists, of which 85% are Japanese tourists, on a chartered cruise ship will arrive at Ha Long International Passenger Port, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City on the morning of April 30, 2025.
This is the first time that a private cruise ship has been chartered to bring tourists from Japan to Vietnam by Peace Boat - a famous cruise tourism organizer in Japan.
Talking to Lao Dong when inspecting the preparation work at Ha Long International Passenger Port, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City on the afternoon of March 12, Mr. Toda Yoshiaki - Director of Shipping Tourism of Peace Boat - said that the reason for choosing Ha Long as the only stop on this trip is because Ha Long Bay is so beautiful, famous and Japanese tourists all want to visit.
Mr. Toda Yoshiaki also revealed that the unit has tried to arrange for the ship to arrive in Ha Long Bay on the very important day of Vietnam.
Can you explain the big day?
Responding to Lao Dong's question, Mr. Toda Yoshiaki said: "We know April 30 is the Liberation of the South and Reunification Day of Vietnam. The ship departed on April 20 in Kobe, Japan, and passed through several ports before arriving in Ha Long on the morning of April 30. I don't know if tourists on the ship know about this holiday, but before the ship arrives in Vietnam's captainalty, we will introduce it to tourists. That day, visitors will certainly witness many special activities in Vietnam".

According to the plan, during a day of stay at Ha Long International Passenger Port, tourists will be divided into many groups to visit Ha Long Bay, visit Ha Long City; some are expected to visit Hai Phong, rural villages...
At the working session with relevant departments, branches and units of Quang Ninh province on the afternoon of March 12, the parties discussed solutions to pick up and drop off and serve guests, because on April 30, it is expected to be very crowded with guests.
A representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province said that they will advise and report to the leaders of Quang Ninh province to direct relevant units to participate, to ensure that more than 1,700 tourists from Japan have a convenient and safe tour.
After this working session and survey, the parties will make a list of where each group of tourists will go and what to do to have a plan to arrange personnel to support each group of tourists throughout the ship's stay in Ha Long.
At the reception with representatives of Peace Boat and a number of travel agencies and shipping agents in Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province - said that welcoming the first cruise ship from the Japanese market to Ha Long on April 30 is the result of many persistent negotiation and promotion efforts of the province and related units. This opens up opportunities to promote cruise shipping routes connecting Japan with Quang Ninh, concretizing the province's policy of attracting high-end tourists.
Quang Ninh province is committed to creating the best conditions, while building more attractive products, ensuring a safe and secure environment, thereby, together with tourism service units, increasing the promotion of Quang Ninh destinations to the Japanese market, making Quang Ninh a regular destination for international shipping lines, including Japanese ships.
