Overcoming thousands of candidates, Cam Thanh village (Hoi An Dong ward, Da Nang) has become the only representative of Vietnam to be honored by the prestigious American magazine Forbes with 20th place in the Top 50 most beautiful villages in the world in 2025, affirming the attraction of green and sustainable tourism.
On the afternoon of October 3, Hoi An Dong Ward People's Committee held a press conference to announce this proud information, and at the same time introduced the operation of Thanh Tam inland waterway tourism port, opening a new development phase for the locality.

Cam Thanh possesses a unique geographical location and ecosystem. Located at the end of the river at the head of the sea, the intersection of three major rivers Thu Bon - Truong Giang - Lo Canh Giang before flowing into the East Sea, this land has formed a rare brackish water ecosystem.
This place is also a buffer zone of the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve. In particular, the nearly 100-hectare Bay Mau Coconut Forest is likened to a "green lung", not only regulating the climate of the whole area but also being the "home" of many aquatic species.
The poetic rivers, the lush green rice fields, the bamboo accumulations, the vast water coconut fields... have created a peaceful and fertile Cam Thanh like a vivid painting of the sea.
Forbes' honor comes not only from its natural beauty, but also from its model of sustainable community tourism development.

Instead of concretizing, Cam Thanh people have turned indigenous values into unique tourism products such as basket rowing experiences, local cooking classes, rustic and friendly homestay services. Handmade products from coconut trees have also become a stable source of income, helping to improve people's livelihoods and reduce the pressure of natural exploitation.
Mr. Tran Tan Dung, Chairman of Hoi An Dong Ward People's Committee, shared: "This is a great source of pride for Cam Thanh people in particular and Hoi An tourism in general. This recognition affirms the increasingly high position of local tourism on the world map".
Mr. Dung emphasized that this is the motivation for Cam Thanh to continue to preserve its identity, promote its potential and build its brand into a "green - heritage - sustainable" "destination", contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese tourism further in the international arena.
