From October 3 to 6 (the 12th to 15th of the 8th lunar month), Hoi An will organize the Mid-Autumn Festival of At Ty - 2025 with many art programs, parades and experience spaces, bringing people and tourists a brilliant and vibrant festival season with cultural identity.
The Mid-Autumn Festival has long been an important holiday for Vietnamese people, meaning reunion, gathering and preserving traditions. In Hoi An - a bustling international port from the 17th - 18th centuries, the Mid-Autumn Festival has become a special festival, combining local traditions with the quintessence of Chinese and Japanese culture, reflecting the creativity of Hoi Town people.
In 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized Hoi An Mid-Autumn Festival as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
According to the Organizing Committee, the highlight of the program is "Full Moon Festival Night" at 7:00 p.m. on October 4 at Hoi An Park with performances of lion - horse - Dragon and Mid-Autumn Festival-themed art. At the same time, the space "Music and Moon" at 106 Bach Dang (October 4 and 6) will introduce folk songs, folk music, and traditional musical instrument concests.
On the evening of October 5, the program "Hoi An Ancient Town Night" recreated the old living space in the lantern light, bringing a sense of peace to visitors. On October 6, the "Mid-Autumn Festival Lanterns" parade in the Old Quarter promises to spread a bustling atmosphere throughout the alleys. During the festival, there will also be a display of the Mid-Autumn Festival tray, a photo exhibition and a Thien Cau dance, and an experience space at the Museum of folk culture.
The At Ty - 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival not only brings joy to all ages but also contributes to honoring traditional cultural values, affirming Hoi An's creativity in turning heritage into materials to create new, unique and memorable experiences for visitors.
