Artist Phuong Binh once collaborated well with Meritorious Artist My Chau. Currently, his life is quite difficult, and he is old and has many diseases.

A time of fame

Cai Luong artist Phuong Binh, a famous name in the Southern stage, has experienced significant ups and downs in her artistic life.

He entered the singing profession at the age of 21, led by talented artisans such as Van Lam and Tam Den. After only one year of training, he became the joint champion of Hung Binh, opening a new promising chapter in his career.

In 1967, with the role of Co Gia Truong in the play "Gio giao xua", Phuong Binh was honored with the Thanh Tam Gold Medal, affirming his talent and position on the cai luong stage.

He is famous for his open-minded, deep-seated singing style, different from many of his peers of the same period.

At one point, he acted with My Chau and created a compatible couple. When mentioning the ancient way of expressing the hope of artist Phuong Binh, the audience cannot forget the two ancient songs performed by him and Meritorious Artist My Chau that were very impressive: "Que anh, que em" and "Doi mat" by composer Trong Nguyen.

At the peak of her career, Phuong Binh decided to create the Huong Da Thao singing troupe, followed by Huong Bien, with the desire to bring performing arts closer to the audience. However, financial difficulties and natural disasters forced him to sell 5 houses in Ho Chi Minh City, cars... to support himself. In 1998, Huong Bien's ship disbanded in Quang Ninh, marking a turbulent period in his life.

Returning to Ho Chi Minh City, Phuong Binh continued to face difficulties when opening an ancient stele shop but was unsuccessful, leading to mounting debts.

At the age of 84, the male artist's health is no longer the same as before. Sharing with reporters, he said that he had undergone many surgeries because he had to go into surgery, which seriously affected his health.

However, artist Phuong Binh is still trying to sing in some places if her health allows. However, his sand is quite low, not enough to cover his living expenses.

Artist Phuong Binh said he still loves art and preserves many memories of his roles through photos, books, newspapers, etc.
