According to information from the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, during the 9-day Tet holiday from January 25 to February 2 (the 26th day of the Lunar New Year to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), Quang Ninh province welcomed about 970,000 tourists, a growth rate of 21% over the same period in 2024.
Of which, international visitors reached nearly 230,000, domestic visitors reached over 740,000.
The province's total tourism revenue during Tet reached about 2,600 billion VND, up 43% over the same period last year. International visitors alone reached nearly 140,600.
The province's spiritual and cultural destinations continue to attract tourists, with the number of visitors to relic sites and temples increasing 6-8 times compared to normal days.
On February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), Quang Ninh welcomed 208,000 visitors, an increase of 14% compared to the 5th day of Tet in 2024.
Notable relic sites such as Cua Ong Temple (Cam Pha City) welcomed nearly 15,600 visitors, Cai Bau Pagoda (Van Don District) about 20,000 visitors, Yen Tu Relic Site (Uong Bi City) attracted nearly 24,300 visitors.
Bach Dang Relic Site (Quang Yen Town) welcomed nearly 23,000 visitors and Tran Dynasty Relic Site (Dong Trieu City) welcomed 16,000 visitors.
In particular, the Tien Cong Festival 2025 in Quang Yen Town attracted a large number of people and tourists, contributing to enriching the cultural experience during the Lunar New Year in Quang Ninh.
In addition to spiritual tourist attractions, famous entertainment areas and tourist attractions also welcomed a sharp increase in visitors, such as Ha Long Bay with nearly 8,000 visitors, Sun World Ha Long Park with 1,500 visitors, and Quang Ninh Museum with nearly 900 visitors.
The number of international visitors entering through Mong Cai border gate reached more than 4,200.
The high number of tourists during Tet has demonstrated the strong recovery of the province's tourism industry, opening up a promising year of 2025 with the goal of welcoming 20 million visitors, including 4.5 million international visitors.
