According to a resolution of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province approved at the meeting on February 26, 2025, from May 1, 2025, tour fees will be collected for Ha Long Bay 6 Journey (new journey), Ha Long Bay 7 Journey (new journey) and Ha Long Bay 8 Journey.
The remaining 5 routes still have the same fares.
Specific new additional fees are as follows:
Ha Long 6 Bay Journey (new route): Ship port - Hon Chan Voi - Ba Cua cape - Tung Lam Island - Hon Cau Bai (the end point of the journey adjacent to Gia Luan, Lan Ha Bay, Hai Phong) or vice versa, with a fee of 150,000 VND/person/trip/day.
Journey of Ha Long 7 Bay 7 (new journey): Visitors visit Ha Long Bay on the journey of Ha Long 1 Bay 1 + Ha Long 2 Bay + Ha Long Bay 3 + Ha Long 4 Bay 4, with a fee of 600,000 VND/person/time. This is also the highest sightseeing fee on Ha Long Bay for train travelers who do not stay overnight on the bay.
Ha Long Bay Journey 8: Tuan Chau Passenger Port - Ha Long International Passenger Port - Nam Cau Trang area, ticket price 70,000 VND/person/trip. This is a route running along the coast of Ha Long City and has been serving tourists for many years on restaurant ships but has not yet collected tolls.

Along with the increasing number of visitors to Ha Long Bay, collecting 3 more routes, ticket sales to Ha Long Bay in 2025 are expected to return to the trillion-dong level as before the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2021, it achieved the highest revenue - nearly 1,200 billion VND, with the reception of nearly 4.4 million visitors, including nearly 2.9 million international visitors.
In 2024, Ha Long Bay's revenue will reach more than 900 billion VND, while in 2023, it will reach about 800 billion VND.
Currently, according to Resolution No. 88/2017/NQ-HDND dated December 13, 2017 of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province, 11.1% of the total revenue from selling tickets to visit Ha Long Bay is reserved for the Ha Long Bay Management Board; the remaining 89% is allocated to Ha Long City.
Ha Long Bay was first recognized as a World Natural Heritage on December 17, 1994, but it was not until 1996 that tickets to visit the bay were officially sold.
By the end of 2024, Ha Long Bay has welcomed over 57 million visitors, including over 26.1 million Vietnamese visitors and over 30.8 million foreign visitors. The total revenue from Ha Long Bay tour fees from 1996 to the end of 2024 is over VND 8,608 billion.
At first, the total amount of money earned each year from selling tickets to visit Ha Long Bay was mostly only a few tens of billions of VND, because there were not many visitors and the tour prices were low.
