It is known that “Multiverse - Multiverse” is part of Tung Duong's important music project in 2024. Besides some previously released MVs and the live concert “Nguoi dan ong hat” on November 23 in Hanoi, the new album is considered Tung Duong's philosophy of life in the years entering a new threshold of life.
Questions about human nature, about survival and the meaning of life, about the ability to escape from the narrow living space to reach distant universes or to return to explore a universe within each person... are all contained in songs composed by very young faces.
They bring all their desires and endless curiosity about the world into their works to create with Tung Duong a musical journey with classic standard elements such as the sound of a symphony orchestra, or completely new materials that stimulate the listener's thinking, from melody to sound effects.
The 12 songs in the album “Multiverse – Multiverse” are divided into 2 chapters. The first 6 songs are a view of the vast universe, an external universe that we can observe and witness its constant transformation. The music in this part is more spatial/ambient music with the appearance of many electronic sounds.
The second half of the album is a story about the universe within each of us, with all the mental states and reflections on life, on ourselves and the relationships in life. It is an “inner” universe, when we turn all our senses to look back at our own being.
In addition to the song “Rebirth” composed by singer-songwriter Tang Duy Tan for Tung Duong, a notable face is young musician Antoine Lai, currently living and working in France, who contributed 4 songs to the album with diverse musical colors, especially the title song - “Multiverse” with bold music and images.
The album also marks the return of the composing duo who have collaborated with Tung Duong for many years, Sa Huynh - Nguyen Duy Hung, along with the participation of other impressive young faces such as Do Hoang Long as composer or MONO and Double 2T as guest artists, all bringing unique colors to create a "multiverse" space where Tung Duong has the opportunity to express different "beings".
Singer MONO also shared that he was initially a bit worried when he received the invitation to sing with Tung Duong.
“Previously, Tung Duong’s image in MONO’s eyes was somewhat serious, always neat and strong-willed. He also gave me a lot of personal space in our song, which surprised me a lot. The freshness in Tung Duong’s thinking and working style left a lot of impressions on me” – MONO shared.
