On the evening of November 7, the opening ceremony of the Hanoi International Film Festival HANIFF 2024 took place at the Hoan Kiem Theater, Hanoi.
At the red carpet event, many directors, actors, and filmmakers from Vietnam and other countries attended and interacted with the audience.
The directors and actors of the films "Once upon a time there was a love story", "Fragile flower", "Super liar meets super fool", "Inside the golden cocoon" appeared on the red carpet.
This year, the film “Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story” by director Trinh Dinh Le Minh opened the film festival. The work is also Vietnam’s representative competing in the feature film category at HANIFF 2024.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong - Head of the Festival Steering Committee said: "The Hanoi International Film Festival has gone through 6 periods and this 7th period is an important event for Vietnamese cinema, continuing to open up opportunities for international cooperation, helping Vietnamese filmmakers meet and exchange, learn experiences with international directors, producers, and film artists, at the same time approaching advanced filmmaking trends and technologies, serving the production of high-quality films. The film festival is also an opportunity for professionals around the world to meet, exchange, and cooperate through high-quality professional activities.
In addition to film screenings and seminars at the Film Festival, the project market contributes to developing young talents and providing high-quality human resources for the Vietnamese film industry. The Film Festival is also an opportunity to introduce Vietnam as an attractive destination for international film crews with unique and special filming locations.
It can be seen that the Hanoi International Film Festival is not only a unique cultural event but also contributes to promoting the sustainable development of the Vietnamese film industry, helping Vietnamese cinema affirm its position on the world map and make its mark in international integration."
At the opening ceremony, artists My Linh, Ha Le, Pham Anh Duy, Lam Bao Ngoc, My Anh... brought special performances. The harmony of "Sister" My Linh, "talented" Ha Le or "brother" Pham Anh Duy attracted the attention of the audience.
Hanoi International Film Festival with the slogan "Cinema: Creativity - Take Off" is chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee.
With 117 films selected for the competition categories, world cinema panorama program, German cinema spotlight, contemporary Vietnamese films, the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival attracted the participation of 51 cinemas from countries and territories.
Feature films, documentaries, and animations are diverse in subject matter and presentation methods, bringing to the audience global issues, diverse aspects of social life, as well as the beauty and unique customs of each nation in the world.
The event welcomed the acting faces of Korean films. Notably, actor Jung Man Sik appeared in "I bet you can handcuff me", "12.12: The day", "Horror crime"... or actor On Ju Wan (films The Penthouse part 2 and 3, Moon rises in the day), actress Shin So Yul (films Good partner, Bitter sweet hell).
Within the framework of the Festival, there are 2 seminars held with the theme "Spotlight on German Cinema" and the theme "Developing film production exploiting historical themes and adapted from literary works".
A familiar activity is the Film Project Market organized by the Department of Cinema in collaboration with Binh Hanh Dan Company Limited. This is a place to support producers, directors and screenwriters in the Asia-Pacific region to introduce their film projects to investors and domestic and foreign film experts through seminars, workshops and networking events taking place within the framework of the program.
