A major fire broke out at a Krasmash factory in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia on April 26. Despite images of black smoke rising from the scene, the Krasmash plant ensured that the fire was not a threat to missile production facilities. The factory's staff, along with emergency staff, ensured the facility was safe.
The fire started at a refrigeration factory - also located in the campus. The roof of the refrigerator storage warehouse before being transported to customers collapsed. It is known that there are about 5,000 refrigerators in the warehouse.
The fire covered about 5,000m2 and the fire was assessed as difficult to rescue. 64 firefighters and 16 fire trucks participated in extinguishing the fire.
Krasmash produces the Sineva ballistic missile and the Sarmat ballistic super missile, which President Vladimir Putin announced last year as part of Russia's latest generation of weapons.
The factory in Krasnoyarsk also attracted attention when it produced mots for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
