No need to commute
For more than 4 years now, Ms. Ly Thi Hoa (La Hien commune, Vo Nhai district) no longer has to work far from home thanks to the Cay Bong industrial cluster (CCN) coming into operation. Garment enterprises coming to the locality have a great need to recruit workers right on the spot with stable income.
Ms. Hoa said: “I used to work as a garment worker in Song Cong City, but since 2020, when the industrial park was located near my house, I have moved back to my hometown to live. Currently, my salary as a garment worker is nearly 9 million VND/month, and living in my hometown does not cost much, so I can save more.”
In recent years, the mountainous district of Vo Nhai in Thai Nguyen province has seen the emergence of the 15.2-hectare Cay Bong Industrial Zone and the 50-hectare Truc Mai Industrial Zone. After being established, the industrial zones have attracted many manufacturing enterprises, with industries such as textiles, mechanical repair, and agricultural and forestry processing.
Mr. Hoang Dinh Hao - Director of TNG Vo Nhai 2 Garment Factory at Cay Bong Industrial Park - said that since April 2020, the company has continuously invested in building factories, and up to now, 40 sewing lines specializing in producing export fashion garments have been put into production. "Currently, our sewing lines are creating jobs for more than 1,500 local workers with a stable income of 6 to 9 million VND/month. This is considered a good income in rural and mountainous areas and contributes to promoting the local economic restructuring towards industrialization" - Mr. Hao said.
Businesses and people benefit together
Meanwhile, in Dinh Hoa district (Thai Nguyen), Tan Duong Industrial Park covers an area of 13 hectares with a total investment of nearly 500 billion VND, expected to come into operation in early 2025. This is the first industrial park in this mountainous district with many difficulties, so it is expected to create jobs and develop the economy.
Mr. Ban Van Hung (Tan Duong commune, Dinh Hoa) said that currently, most of the young people in the commune have to go to work in industrial parks in other places in the province and other provinces, traveling is difficult but they do not earn much. Hopefully, when this industrial park comes into operation, it will create many jobs for local workers.
“My family has more than 2 sao of rice fields that need to be reclaimed to make way for the industrial park, but I fully support and hand over the land immediately. The businesses have also committed to hiring local people with stable salaries and jobs, so we feel secure,” Mr. Hung shared.
According to the investor of Tan Duong Industrial Park, after completing the infrastructure, a factory will be built, a production line will be installed with a capacity of 2.2 million garment products/year, creating regular jobs for nearly 4,500 local workers.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Manh - Chairman of Tan Duong Commune People's Committee - said that the implementation process of Tan Duong Industrial Park is very favorable, receiving consensus and support from the people. When completed, the project will create many jobs for local workers, especially households whose land has been recovered. "The industrial park will concentrate on production units, light industry that does not pollute the environment and creates many jobs. We hope that there will be other industrial parks in the area in the future so that workers in the commune have stable jobs, promoting the economy" - Mr. Manh informed.
