60 years of pride
In 1964, Van Binh Secondary School was established with 6 classes and 10 staff and teachers. At first, there was no official school, so students had to study temporarily in temples, pagodas, livestock farms, and houses in three villages: Binh Vong, Van Hoi, and Van Giap (Thuong Tin district, Hanoi).
Ten years after its establishment, it was not until 1974 that the school officially had a location with 12 classrooms and 420 students, but at this time the school's facilities were still quite difficult, the classrooms were mainly made of bamboo and thatch.
In 1977, the school merged with the primary school and was called Van Binh primary and secondary school. In 1992, 15 years later, the school decided to separate and was named Van Binh secondary school with 15 classes and 520 students.
Through the development process since the separation of levels until now, the school has always had the number of classes from 15 to 23, the number of students from 550 to more than 900 students and the number of staff and teachers from 40 to 55 people.
Since its establishment, with a good teaching tradition and the efforts of generations of leaders, staff, teachers and students, Van Binh Secondary School has achieved a proud record of achievements, is considered a key school and is ranked in the top of Thuong Tin district.
The school is also considered a cradle of talent for the homeland and the country when it has had excellent students and teachers for many years. From Van Binh Secondary School, many generations of students have become successful, matured, and brought their talents, intelligence, and efforts to build and develop the country. After many efforts, Van Binh Secondary School was recognized as a "National Standard School" in 2016 and 2023.
Having worked at Van Binh Secondary School, Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Tam Son - former Vice Principal of Van Binh Secondary School - is proud to have grown up at a school with a long history of achievements over 60 years.
"There are many comrades from Van Binh Secondary School who have become principals of other schools and leaders in the education sector. After growing up from Van Binh Secondary School, I myself was also one of the people appointed as principal of a specialized school, holding the position of Deputy Head and then Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thuong Tin district" - Meritorious teacher Nguyen Tam Son shared.
Many students of the school have become politicians, professors, doctors, and businessmen who have contributed to the development of the country. The dedication, talent, and enthusiasm of each teacher and staff of Van Binh Secondary School is the key factor in determining the success of the career of educating people over the past 60 years.
Looking to the future
After many ups and downs, after 60 years, looking back, Van Binh Secondary School has truly grown up with much more modern and spacious facilities. Up to now, the school has 23 classrooms; 8 subject classrooms with relatively full equipment for learning and 16 functional rooms.
Approaching the 60th anniversary of Van Binh Secondary School, Nguyen Linh Nga (class 9A5, Van Binh Secondary School) feels honored and proud.
"I personally feel very honored and happy to be a student of a school with a 60-year history. I hope that in the future, the school will always maintain its spirit of learning, solidarity and achieve more achievements in the future."
On November 16, Van Binh Secondary School will officially celebrate its 60th anniversary with the participation of generations of teachers and students who have grown up from this school. This is a great and honorable event for all staff and teachers of the school.
60 years of perseverance, persistence, overcoming many difficulties, building and developing, Van Binh Secondary School is now transforming strongly. All staff, teachers and students have been trying hard to build the school to continue to develop to a new height to meet the fundamental and comprehensive innovation of Vietnamese Education in the new era.

Therefore, I myself as well as the staff and teachers of the school are always wondering how to help the school continue to promote its existing strengths and, importantly, to raise the school to a new position and height.
