Raw material area of agricultural sector
Tan Phuoc District (Tien Giang Province) is the locality with Long Giang Industrial Park, which by the end of June 2024, will provide jobs for about 25,000 workers. In 2023, the total export turnover of enterprises in Long Giang Industrial Park will reach over 2 billion USD.
Mr. Le Thanh Tuan (temporarily residing in Thanh Tan commune, Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang province) - said that Tan Phuoc district has farmers growing pineapples, rice, etc. It is an area with raw materials for processing agricultural products. Therefore, people mainly sell raw, unprocessed products.
“The establishment of many industrial parks and clusters in the area and calling on businesses to invest in the agricultural processing sector will contribute to making good use of raw materials and thereby creating stable jobs for local people,” Mr. Tuan shared.
Mr. Tran Hoang Phong - Chairman of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee (Tien Giang Province) - said that by the end of June 2024, Long Giang Industrial Park had leased land to 55 enterprises with an area of about 321.54/378.28 hectares, reaching 85%. Enterprises in Long Giang Industrial Park invest in the following industries: Electronics, copper, plastic packaging, food, sports and entertainment products, etc.
Job creation opportunities for people
The Chairman of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee said that the locality is currently implementing investment in Thanh Tan Industrial Cluster, Tan Phuoc 1 Industrial Park and Tan Phuoc 2 Industrial Park.
Accordingly, the Thanh Tan Industrial Cluster has been approved by the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee as the investor of the Thanh Tan Industrial Cluster project. At the same time, the authorities have approved the adjustment of the detailed planning 1/500, and the locality is currently coordinating with relevant units to conduct land recovery and site clearance.
For Tan Phuoc 1 Industrial Park, the Prime Minister has approved the investment policy and the investor. Currently, the locality is coordinating with departments, branches, and sectors to advise the People's Committee of Tien Giang province to implement the next parts of this project.
As for Tan Phuoc 2 Industrial Park, it has completed the announcement of the 1/2,000 planning and the marking of planning markers as prescribed. Currently, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province is directing relevant sectors to review the project's scale conformity with the provincial planning approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1762/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2023.
Mr. Tran Hoang Phong also added that Tien Giang is implementing the Dong Thap Muoi development route project phase 1, with a total investment of 586 billion VND invested by the Tien Giang Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. This project has a starting point directly connecting to the Than Cuu Nghia intersection of the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway project (Chau Thanh district) and an end point connecting to the My Phuoc town roundabout (Tan Phuoc district).
“The province has allocated capital to invest in projects in Tan Phuoc district, including the Dong Thap Muoi route project phase 1. Currently, the authorities of Tan Phuoc district are urgently coordinating with relevant units to carry out site clearance work to hand over the site to the investor to construct the above project,” said Mr. Phong.
The Chairman of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee shared that if the above projects are completed, they will be a driving force to attract businesses to invest in the area and the new development space of Tan Phuoc District will be expanded. From there, it will create jobs for people, promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.
