Turn challenges into opportunities
“From the forecasts that 2024 will have many challenges in terms of labor (LD) - employment (VL), from the beginning of the year we have proactively built an action program with the mindset: turning challenges into opportunities” - Mr. Nguyen Phu Hieu, Director of the Employment Service Center (DVVL) of Dong Thap province shared.
On that basis, each department and professional division in the unit proactively developed an adaptation plan to accelerate job connections between enterprises and employees. Thanks to that, many traditional activities have been "renewed". A typical example is the organization of Job Transaction (GDVL) sessions. "During the year, the Center directly and jointly organized 33 GDVL sessions. In addition to the sessions at the headquarters in Cao Lanh City, it also expanded the type of GDVL right at the enterprise and online with the Mekong Delta and Southeast regions", Mr. Vo Van Tan - Deputy Director of Dong Thap Center for Employment Services - added.
Thanks to this flexible approach, the Center has connected 498 companies and enterprises with the need to recruit 118,796 workers. Thereby, helping many workers, especially in rural areas, have more opportunities to access jobs.
Bringing joy to businesses and employees
One of the highlights in connecting labor - employment in Dong Thap is the application of information technology to expand communication. Through applications on Zalo, Facebook ... regularly update recruitment needs to young people. At the same time, regularly organize delegations to visit, encourage, give gifts; hold seminars, conferences, commend and reward units and individuals who do a good job of sending laborers to work abroad for a limited period under contracts.
With many creative ways, the Center not only contributes to cooling down the wave of workers returning home after losing their jobs in industrial parks outside the province, but also helps businesses quench their thirst for labor.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Han - CEO of Dai Phat Garments Co., Ltd. (Thap Muoi district) - commented: "The Center not only provides quality labor through the screening process in recruitment, but also cares about post-recruitment." According to Ms. Han, after introducing workers to work, during many days of the first working month, the Center's staff often called to visit and encourage workers. This not only helps workers gain more experience to adapt to the new environment, but also gives them more motivation to work with high productivity and quality.
Especially in the field of working abroad under contracts, the Center is considered by many enterprises as a solid bridge. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuong Hai - General Director of Dung Giang Company Limited (HCMC) - commented: "Thanks to each job placement session, employees can meet directly with the company to discuss, consult and choose suitable jobs. Thereby, it contributes positively to creating opportunities for employees who want to work in Japan...".
With that creative approach, in 2024, the Center, together with functional units in the province, created jobs for nearly 40,000 workers (133.2% of the annual plan). Of which, 2,220 workers went abroad to work under contracts (111% of the annual plan).
