US technology company Tycho. AI has just introduced a new vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone model named Halley, combining high-speed flight capabilities with an AI automatic navigation system.
According to Tycho. AI, Halley is designed to operate in complex environments without relying on GPS signals or traditional satellite positioning systems.
This drone model can reach speeds of over 320 km/h, operating range of about 25 km and fly at a low altitude of about 7.6 meters above the ground.
Tycho. AI said the device is optimized for tasks that require high speed, rapid response and flexible operation in a signal-distorted environment.
One of Halley's notable points is its fast deployment capability. This drone can switch from storage to operational readiness in less than 30 seconds thanks to its assembly design that does not require supporting tools.
According to Tycho. AI, this platform is developed according to a modular architecture, allowing component replacement and integration of many different load capacities right on the field. This design also helps repair and maintenance take place faster.
Halley is oriented to serve many tasks such as reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence gathering, drone counter-attack and high-speed combat operations.
The operator can drive the drone through a first-person perspective (FPV) interface or operate completely automatically.
The core point that creates Halley's special ability is the Voyager autonomous system developed by Tycho. AI. This is a technology suite integrating the ability to observe, navigate and control flights into a compact AI platform.
Voyager allows drones to locate without GPS by combining visual inertial distance measurement with satellite image contrasting technology. The system continuously analyzes the surrounding environment in real time to determine location and direction of movement.
In addition, Voyager's AI can also detect obstacles, avoid collisions and create 3D maps of the operating environment. This helps the drone maintain stable flight capability even at high speeds and low altitudes.
Tycho. AI said Voyager also supports creating flexible orbits, helping Halley perform complex flight operations in environments with limited signals or many obstacles.
Mr. Sertac Karaman - founder of Tycho. AI, said Halley represents a new generation of drones with compact design, high speed and powerful autonomy capabilities.
The combination of high-speed hardware and automated AI systems helps Halley operate effectively in environments where traditional vehicles are easily neutralized by signal interference or complex combat conditions.
