Mobilizing comprehensive strength to protect the rights of union members and workers
Mr. Do Quoc Vinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Ninh Binh Provincial Labor Federation, Chairman of the Thanh Nam Ward Trade Union:

The draft Report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (XIII term) at the XIV Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union comprehensively assessed the results in all aspects of trade union activities, especially in the work of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
Trade unions need to continue to focus on performing the task of representing and protecting legitimate and lawful rights and interests, contributing to improving the quality of life of union members and workers, in which many solutions and many suitable models are proposed to meet the requirements of the new situation; Mobilize comprehensive strength in representing and protecting legitimate and lawful rights and interests for union members and workers; improve the quality of collective labor agreements; regularly dialogue, listen, and absorb opinions, coordinate to promptly resolve difficulties, obstacles and legitimate requirements of union members and workers.
In addition, proactively participate in inspecting and supervising the implementation of related regimes and policies and participate in building and implementing democracy at units and enterprises; building harmonious and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
The Trade Union also needs to continue to strengthen the effectiveness of legal advice activities; focus on enhancing the role of representative, initiating lawsuits and participating in labor proceedings in court; improve the quality of occupational safety and health, ensuring working and labor conditions for workers and employees (CNVCLĐ); Promote care for practical benefits for union members and workers; gradually clarify and create differences in benefits for workers who are union members and workers who are not yet union members.
Along with that, organize and coordinate practical activities to care for and improve the material and spiritual life of workers, civil servants and laborers, focusing on social activities, paying attention to caring for and helping families of workers, civil servants and laborers in difficult circumstances and suffering from dangerous diseases.
The VGCL should also have specific decentralization guidelines for commune and ward trade unions so that commune and ward trade unions can proactively operate and bring more efficiency in the coming time.
Building socialist trade unions associated with specific criteria
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Tien Lang commune, Hai Phong city:

Through studying the draft Political Report submitted to the Vietnam Trade Union Congress, I realize that the content of the report has closely followed the reality of the lives of workers and laborers, and at the same time clearly shows the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in the new period.
I hope the draft will continue to supplement solutions to build a socialist trade union model in the current situation. This is a necessary requirement to clearly affirm the position of the Vietnam Trade Union as a socio-political organization of the working class under the leadership of the Party.
In my opinion, the construction of the socialist trade union model should not only stop at slogans but needs to be concretized by clear criteria, which can be measured through the contents of collective labor agreements. Trade union levels need to continue to improve the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining; focus on practical issues such as salaries, working hours, working conditions, and improving skills and skills for workers.
Along with that, the trade union proactively advises and coordinates to organize forums and conferences for Party committees and authorities to meet and directly dialogue with union members and workers, thereby promptly grasping their thoughts and aspirations and removing difficulties arising from the grassroots level.
Reality in Tien Lang shows that negotiation, signing and implementation of collective labor agreements at units bring many practical benefits to union members. The commune trade union also regularly maintains dialogues between the government and workers, contributing to timely resolving many issues related to employment, life and policies.
In addition to the task of caring for and protecting the rights of employees, the Trade Union organization needs to continue to affirm its role in participating in Party building and developing party members. The Trade Union actively propagates, discovers, and fosters outstanding union members to introduce to the Party for consideration and admission; and proactively coordinates with relevant agencies in building Party organizations at enterprises.
During this Workers' Month, Tien Lang Commune Trade Union plans to coordinate in organizing a training class on Party awareness for 75 outstanding union members. Introducing outstanding union members to the Party for consideration, training, and admission is also an important premise for gradually establishing Party cells in enterprises in the spirit of Resolution No. 28-NQ/TU on building, consolidating and developing Party organizations in non-state enterprises.
The commune trade union continues to guide grassroots trade unions to widely launch emulation movements among workers and employees; focusing on the movement "Good labor - Creative labor", encouraging union members to promote initiatives, technical improvements, improve labor productivity and working conditions, contributing to the development of units and businesses...
