The Border Guard of Binh Dinh province said that it is coordinating with the Naval Region 3 Command, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, Coast Guard Region 3 and the border guards of the Central provinces to search for 4 missing fishermen in the sea about 50 nautical miles east of the coast of Binh Dinh province.

The missing victims are workers on fishing boat QNa 91679 TS, owned and captained by Mr. Phan Van Thanh (54 years old, residing in Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province). The boat departed at noon on March 20 at the An Hoa Border Control Station (under the Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station, Quang Nam province), practicing the camera fishing, with 15 fishermen.
At around 10:30 a.m. on March 21, while fishing at sea, the boat had a broken engine, drifted freely and was sunk by waves. Fishing vessels operating near the area, including QNa 91769 TS, QNa 90172 TS and QNa 91829 TS, promptly approached and rescued 11 fishermen, of whom 1 had died.

On the morning of March 23, fishing boat QNa 91769 TS driven by Mr. Tran Tan Sinh (residing in Nui Thanh district) brought 10 survivors and the victims' bodies to De Gi fishing port (Cat Khanh town, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province).
Cat Khanh Border Guard Station (Binh Dinh) coordinated with Ky Ha Border Guard Station (Quang Nam) and local authorities to carry out procedures to receive and provide medical care, encourage the fishermen, and hand over the victims to their families.
Currently, the authorities continue to search for the missing fishermen in the conditions of big waves and strong winds at sea.
