On the road from the center of Bao Nhai commune to Nam Det and Nam Khanh villages, connecting to the Ban Lien area, many road sections have been invested in, but there are still about 15 km of old roads that are degraded.
According to reporters' records at the end of August, the road surface at some locations appeared potholes, damaged, and soil and rocks overflowed after the rain.
These road sections become muddy when it rains and dusty in the dry season, directly affecting people's travel and transportation of goods.
Mr. Ban A San - Head of Nam Det village, Bao Nhai commune said that the entire route from the commune center to Nam Det, Nam Khanh, Ban Lien is about 25 km long, of which only about 10 km has been invested.
People really hope the road will be completed soon so that travel is less difficult. This is also a road for transporting goods and agricultural products of the people," Mr. San said.
According to Mr. San, after storm No. 3, many locations on the road continued to landslide. Some points have not been thoroughly repaired, causing travel to be interrupted at times.
There are times in the rainy season when roads are congested for a whole week, more than ten days it is impossible to get out. Goods cannot be transported outside either," Mr. San shared.
For people, the difficulty is not only in traveling. This is also a way to bring products such as cinnamon, wood, and cinnamon leaves from the highlands to the market.
Mr. Trieu A Son, a resident of Nam Det village, informed that the degraded road has caused many obstacles to the transportation of agricultural products, increased costs, and even affected selling prices.
Cinnamon, cinnamon bark, if the road is difficult to travel, can often be sold at very low prices. Without convenient roads, it directly affects people's economy," Mr. Son said.
According to Mr. Son, people want the road to be invested in expanding, completing and connecting with Ban Lien road so that travel and trade are more convenient.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Tran Manh Cuong - Head of the Economic Department of Bao Nhai commune said that the locality has identified this as a route that plays an important role in connecting trade between regions.
For the remaining 15 km, the Commune People's Committee has inspected and reviewed the actual situation and included it in the proposal in the 2026-2030 period to implement investment," Mr. Cuong said.
According to Mr. Cuong, the road investment is expected to be implemented around 2029-2030.
While waiting for the project, the Commune Economic Department coordinates with the villages to inspect and review landslide and damaged locations to carry out maintenance and repair, initially ensuring that people can travel.
With about 3 km of the Bao Nhai - Nam Det route under construction, Mr. Cuong said that the project currently needs to adjust some contents and wait for approval.
Along with that, material prices fluctuate and continuous rainy and storm weather also affect the construction progress.
The Commune Economic Department has worked with the Regional Project Management Board and contractors, orienting the restart of construction in early September.
