According to the Civil Defense Command of Son La province, as of September 30, the whole province recorded 2 deaths and missing people in Muong Bang and To Mua communes. There were 11 houses that were severely damaged, more than 20 households in To Mua, Van Ho, Tan Yen, Chieng Sai, Long Sap communes had to be urgently evacuated.
More than 70 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and washed away. Traffic in many places was eroded and congested on National Highways 37, 43 and provincial roads, with more than 11,000 m3 of rock and soil spilling onto the road. The electricity industry recorded 15 broken low-voltage poles.

In Muong Bang commune, heavy rain caused the death of a resident of Suoi Ga village. Six houses in Cai, Chung, and Bang villages were swept away or heavily flooded; 31 households in Kem village, Tan Kieng had to be relocated. An assembled iron bridge was swept away by floodwaters, 10 electric poles broke.
Provincial Road 114 has dozens of landslides, especially in Deo But and Bai Bong.


Mr. Tran Hai Thanh - Chairman of Muong Bang Commune People's Committee said that local forces are clearing mud, prioritizing the repair of schools, traffic and supporting households with heavy damage.
At Muong Do Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, floodwaters collapsed 70m of fences, damaged drainage pipes, and flooded many classrooms and boarding areas. The authorities mobilized forces to clean up so that students could return to school on October 1.
In Moc Son ward, 185 households in 11 residential groups suffered damage. Dong Sang Kindergarten and many houses were flooded, mud and mud flooded in.


In To Mua commune, a resident of Tin Toc village went missing while grazing with buffaloes, many households along the stream were evacuated.
Van Ho commune recorded Khoi village cultural house and some households being flooded; some kindergartens at risk of landslides. The Board of Directors of Van Ho Secondary School said that teachers and parents have cleaned the school to return to teaching soon.
In Long Sap commune, 2 houses were damaged 80%, 1.5 hectares of rice were flooded; some households in Tan Yen and Chieng Sai also had to be relocated, many inter-village traffic routes were cut off.

On September 29 and 30, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee inspected the damage situation in Phu Yen and Muong Bang, requesting to focus on repairing traffic, restoring electricity, water, telecommunications, schools; visiting and supporting families with victims and households with damaged houses.

Up to now, localities have implemented the "4 on-site" motto, mobilizing hundreds of cadres, armed forces, union members, youth and people to participate in leveling mud and soil, soon stabilizing their lives after floods.
