Gia Lai - A loud explosion suddenly occurred while weighing scrap at a house in Phu My Bac commune, killing 2 women on the spot.

On January 11, Phu My Bac Commune Police (Gia Lai province) said that functional agencies are investigating and verifying the cause of the explosion that killed 2 women in the area.

According to initial information, at about 1:35 PM on January 10, Phu My Bac Commune Police received a report that Ms. Nguyen Thi T. (born 1979, residing in Tan Oc village, Phu My Bac commune) came to Ms. Dang Thi C.'s house (born 1963, residing in Van Dinh village, Phu My Bac commune) to buy scrap.

While the two were weighing scrap metal, a loud explosion suddenly occurred. The explosion killed Ms. C. and Ms. T.

Immediately after the incident occurred, Phu My Bac Commune Police coordinated with the Commune Military Command and related forces to protect the scene and ensure security and order.

Professional departments of Gia Lai Provincial Police coordinated with functional units to conduct scene examination and investigate the cause of the incident.

According to a source at the scene, at the time before the explosion, while buying and selling scrap metal, two women smashed and knocked on a rusty metal object, suspected of being a bomb.

Currently, the cause of the incident is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
